Edmonton trombonist Audrey Ochoa is a captivating, original voice on the Canadian jazz scene, known for her playful approach and ability to move effortlessly between contemporary and Latin jazz, chamber music, and beyond.
Classically trained and endlessly curious, Audrey has shared the stage with Canadian jazz greats Hilario Duran, PJ Perry and Tommy Banks, as well as international artists including Marcus Miller and Chris Potter. Her acclaimed recordings have repeatedly reached #1 on the Canadian jazz charts, and her album Frankenhorn reached #1 on both the Canadian and U.S. jazz charts, earning her the Western Canadian Music Award for Jazz Artist of the Year.
Her 2023 album, The Head of a Mouse, brings together deeply personal compositions inspired by family, grief and relationships, while drawing from influences ranging from jazz and soul to ska and salsa. The album earned Audrey her first JUNO Award nomination in 2025. Her newest album, The Sorceress, released in 2026, continues to build on her reputation as one of Canada’s most distinctive jazz artists.
