John Hewitt & The New Americans

About
John Hewitt is often considered one of Alberta’s hardest working musicians. With 7 albums and a book under his belt and over 150 yearly tour dates, he finds time to sleep on the commercial breaks. Inspired by the likes of Tom Petty, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young, his work reflects that of those prolific writers before him. For John, it’s like breathing, it’s a necessity.
Backed by Edmonton supergroup the New Americans (a completely non-political name after a pub in his hometown of Sault Ste. Marie), any and every show is jam-packed with melody, humour, poetic lyrics, and soaring arrangements.
