Horizon Players Fundraiser Event - Friday

Join Horizon Players for a memorable evening of theatre, laughter, and community spirit at our annual Fundraiser Showcase. This special event celebrates local talent while supporting Horizon Players' ongoing commitment to community theatre and youth arts development in the Tri-Municipal Region. The evening will feature an award-winning performance of Crystal Blue Persuasion by Marc Coyle, winner of the 2026 Alberta Provincial One-Act Festival, along with additional performances by Horizon Players members and a preview of the exciting productions planned for our upcoming season.

For more than four decades, Horizon Players has been bringing live theatre to audiences throughout the Tri-Municipal Region. Since its founding in 1983, the organization has provided opportunities for performers, directors, technicians, musicians, and volunteers of all ages to participate in community theatre. Through a wide range of productions, from beloved musicals and comedies to dramatic works and youth programming, Horizon Players has enriched the cultural life of the community while fostering creativity, confidence, friendship, and a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts.

Proceeds from this fundraiser support Horizon Players' programs and initiatives, including the Norm Usiskin Bursary for Young Performers. Established in memory of a beloved friend of the theatre, the bursary helps young artists develop their theatre skills and pursue opportunities in the arts. Awarded annually by the Horizon Players Association, the bursary funding for eligible Horizon Players alumni under the age of 18 who are enrolled in an arts-related course or program. The program also helps make arts education and participation more accessible for families in our community, ensuring that young performers have opportunities to learn, grow, and continue their artistic journey.

Event will be hosted at the Black Box Theatre located in Heavy Metal Place.
